Below is an overview of the spaces we have available on campus. Check out more information here, on booking rooms and spaces:




Rooms and spaces within the Union can be booked through the Helpdesk and are free to hire (with the exception of bars- see the bottom of the page)

Saturday, 8.30am-5.00pm

Sunday, 12.00pm-5.00pm (closed outside of term time)


  • Rooms 1-6, Level 2 (8.30am-12.00pm):

  • Room 2: Capacity 15-20, tables, chairs
  • Room 3: Capacity 10, tables, chairs
  • Room 4: Capacity 40, tables, chairs, computer, projector
  • Room 5: Capacity 40, tables, chairs, computer, projector
  • Room 6: Capacity 100, tables, chairs, computer, projector

Space in the University is booked through the Helpdesk, with restricted rooms and times (generally 6pm-9pm) due to lectures and porters. Check out rooms here and speak to the Helpdesk if you have specific requirements and they will try and accommodate you where possible:




You can book out areas within our bars and also our nightclub spaces and receive offers booking your club/society event:




Refectory/Parkinson Court/Grassed Space outside the Union

Speak to your Development Coordinator as you need to complete required paperwork to book the space, 4-6 weeks before required (if available). Paperwork required includes a Risk Assessment, itinerary and where applicable insurance.

There is a cost to use the Edge facilities, whether you pay for entry each time or a membership for the year. The facilities are open to everyone, whether a student, alumni, staff or member of the public, with varying membership and entry costs, which can be found here-


Groups get 50% of the hire of sports facilities within the University.
