Operation Liberation!

In the last few weeks I’ve been searching for next year’s liberation coordinators in LUU. If you have no idea what I’m on about don’t worry I’ll explain. Liberation coordinators were introduced last year to campaign on issues that relate to specific groups of students. So we have, Women, LGBT, BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) and Disabled liberation coordinators.

Last year our coordinators had many successful campaigns such as pushing for lecturers and personal tutors to be educated on the difference between sex and gender and even helping form the Black Feminist Society. I’m really proud of all the work the coordinators have done this year and I’m really excited for what’s to come next year!

So now for the exciting bit this year’s coordinators are:

WOMEN’S LIBERATION CO-ORDINATORS:

Anja Komatar

Emma Healey

Eleanor Price

BME LIBERATION CO-ORDINATORS:

Kyle Gray

Abla Klaa

Romina Masood

LGBT LIBERATION CO-ORDINATORS:

Charlotte Davenport

Gareth Field

DISABLED LIBERATION CO-ORDINATOR:

Inga Reichelt

Congratualations to the new liberation coordinators! I’m really looking forward to working with everyone this year as I know they all have so much passion. So look out for the campaigns they coordinate and don’t forget if you want to get involved with any campaigning next year email me on unigt@leeds.ac.uk
