For like minded individuals who wants to volunteer for the guide dogs organization, we promote awareness and raise funds through interesting activities and collaborations with other societies.

Who are we?

University of Leeds students working in partnership with The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

What is our aim?

  1. To improve awareness whilst raising funds for the association through engaging social events;
  2. To provide a volunteering platform for our members (aiding the blind and partially sighted students in the University and outside of the University);
  3. To bring together like-minded individuals who share the same passion in helping those around them; and
  4. To encourage and aid members in becoming an official volunteer of the Guide Dogs Association.

Did you know…

Apart from providing mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people, the Guide Dogs also campaign for the rights of people with visual impairment, educate the public about eye care and fund eye disease research etc. Together we can do better! 


What can we offer you? 

  • A social platform for members to interact and discuss fundraising ideas.
  • A chance to get an official level 1 sighted training certificate which can be useful to your CV (which is used for guiding the blind).
  • The chance to play an active role in fundraising, we have fundraising activities on a weekly basis with the Leeds mobility team.
  • Trips/socials (Eg. Blind-tasting dinners, day trips to the Atherton guide dogs training centre, etc.).
  • Opportunities to become an official volunteer of the guide dogs organization.
  • Special discounts on food and other items from our sponsors. 
  • Chance for you to interact with the lovely guide dogs during fundraising activities.

This is the Guide Dogs Society extraordinary general meeting (EGM). We will be electing a secretary and vice-president. To continue running this amazing society, we absolutely need a new secretary, so if you're thinking of running for committee please do! New members are welcome to apply too! P.S. Don't forget to vote when voting opens!
