Welcome to BarSoc, a society created to support those wishing to pursue a career as a Barrister.

Whether you study law, or any other degree discipline, if you want, or are considering a career as a Barrister then this is the society for you!

A principle aim of BarSoc is to increase diversity and inclusion across the profession and members are welcome from right across the University.

We want to provide you with the opportunity to gain exposure to practising Barristers and career development through a range of activities from formal dinners at the Inns of Court, to informal activities such as bowling and social networking.

We will soon be accepting members for the society and membership levels will be as follows:

Annual Membership: £10 - One academic year; allowing access to all BarSoc activities, events and socials.

Degree Membership: £25 - Lifetime of your degree study; allowing access to all BarSoc activities, events and socials throughout your degree. (£5 saving if you're a member throughout your degree)

Lifetime Membership: £30 - Automatically changes to Alumni Membership upon graduation; allowing access to all BarSoc activities, events and socials throughout your degree and beyond. Automatically becoming an Alumni member will allow you to help support the future of BarSoc through participation, mentoring and support.

Professional/Alumni Membership: £50 - Professional Barristers/Judges/Academics who are Alumni of the University of Leeds. As well as providing much needed financial support for the society and its members, it will provide you with the chance to engage with aspiring Barristers through support, mentoring and participation at BarSoc events.
