Welcome to BAYSN's LUU page.

We are a support network for bereaved students of all ages for all situations. Grief is a very strange experience that can affect people in a variety of ways, and unless you've been there, it is very difficult to understand the ups and downs.

A few of us got the idea of setting up this network when we heard that a friend had recently lost a parent and was finding it difficult to come to terms with the loss. We realised that there wasn't a society to support grieving students, and so we put our heads together.

We've all been there and remember how isolating grief can be, particularly at university. Sometimes you can feel like the elephant in the room because nobody knows what to say, or you feel frustrated because nobody can relate to the contradicting emotions. It is far easier and less awkward to talk to somebody who really GETS it.

BAYSN aims to bring people in the same situation together, and provide support for those who need it the most. Whether you need someone to talk to, advice from people further along the line, a social where there's no pressure or even a hug, the network aims to help out.

We are not a counselling or mental health service, but we can signpost and help you enjoy your time at uni while you grieve. Believe us it is possible.

We communicate mainly via facebook, so give our page a like and keep updated:

We hope to see you at our socials :)
