Animal Welfare Society

Welcome to the LUU Animal Welfare society !

If you're passionate about animals and their welfare then this is the place for you! The group offers a platform for like-minded individuals to come together and share their concerns. It is a student-led organisation, so if there's an issue you'd like to tackle, then it's our issue too. Animal welfare is rarely at the top of government agendas so it is crucial to have a large amount of support behind every campaign to raise awareness and generate as much interest as possible. In addition to holding meetings where we brainstorm for different campaigns and discuss how everyone can do their bit, we aim to hold talks from other activists, documentaries and offer loads of volunteering opportunities too!

The Animal Welfare society is one of Leeds University's latest additions, having been about for only two years. There is still a lot of work to do at home and abroad and we are passionate about giving the voiceless a voice. Whether it's the African elephant, the Bengal tiger or the cats and dogs at your local RSPCA that pull on your heartstrings, let us know and get involved!

The society's membership fee is only £2 for the year, and this money will go towards funding our campaigns.
