A little bit about us...

We are the Faculty of Biological Sciences society - one of the biggest and best societies in LUU! With over 1500 members in 2018/19, we cater for both undergraduates and postgraduates across all courses within FBS. We run a wide range of social and educational events throughout the year, on our own and in collaboration with other societies, meaning we provide something for everyone. We also have two intramural teams (football & netball), as well as the Couch to 5K initiative, for our sportier members. Memberships include some fantastic discounts from our sponsors/partners and can be bought either for one year or as a lifetime membership. What can FoBSoc do for you?



FoBSoc socials are infamously known in all LUU society circles. We boast generous £1000+ bar tabs for our members, casual pizza night ins, charity quizzes and a chance to don those prom dresses and suits in our annual FoBSoc ball! Our socials are a great way to meet and socialise with people on your course, held frequently with a range of events for suit all. We have soem great events ready and lined up for semester 1:

* SEPTEMBER 27TH- (Fresher's warm up event) Reminisce the Brazilian Carnival at Revs bar with our first social of the year! There will be live steel drummers, samba dancers and DJ’s and of course as we're are FoBSoc, there'll be a few freebies to look out for ;)

* SEPTEMBER 28TH- Lab coat party at Canal mills to welcome all members back in style!

* OCTOBER 4TH- Fresher's only night out to Mission

* OCTOBER 10TH- Post Varsity celebrations at Mischief

Trip Abroad! - DUBLIN

26th - 28th January

This year, we'll be running a trip abroad to Dublin in January, after the stress of the Christmas exams!

Our booking page will go live Monday 1st October. Be ready as places will sell out fast!


We have two sports teams representing FoBSoc in intramural leagues:

  • Football
  • Netball

The team captains and sports secretary are currently recruting for new team members - drop them an e-mail at or drop us a message on facebook if you're interested!


FoBSoc regularly hold a variety of events to help improve your employability and learn more about your chosen field. Including:

-Assessment centre workshops run in collaboration with TeachFirst. These are particularly useful when graduating or applying for a year in industry.

-Guest speakers from various companies providing an opportunity to build your professional network

-Tour of Covance research facilities located just off campus and carry out clinical trials for some of the world's leading research
