CathSoc comes together primarily to celebrate Mass together at the Catholic Chaplaincy.

Masses happen during the week and every Sunday at 5pm during term time. Everyone is welcome to Mass, all our socials and events.

We host a variety of different socials throughout the year, meeting in the lounge after the 5pm Mass. We do meals out, bowling, trips to the pub, hikes in to the Dales, BBQ’s, charity fundraisers, Ceilidh's  and so much more! This is an opportunity to meet lots of like-minded students.

Cathsoc and the Catholic Chaplaincy offers you a place of solace, peace and support at the times you need it most (and all the other times too!) We're your 'home from home'. - come and join us! You're very welcome.

For more information regarding Mass times and CathSoc, visit  the Chaplaincy website, our Facebook page or alternatively email: Luke (Cathsoc president) at or Father Peter Kravos (our Chaplain) at

We run several major annual events including the Fresher's BBQ, Bonfire Party, Ceildih, Week of Guided Prayer, Retreat and Summer BBQ. Throughout the year, we have many other events such as meals together, Fr P.'s hikes in the Dales, and relaxing of an evening in the pub. Every other Tuesday during term time we run "Jam with the Lamb", our prayer and worship group. On the alternate Tuesdays we will be starting "Unite", a new discipleship group.

All these and the great community we have at the Chaplaincy led to us winning Best Faith Society at the Riley's in 2015 and being shortlisted again in 2016. We always welcome new people so whether you are curious about the faith, or just want to celebarte it, we have something for you. Come along and see what we do, and perhaps get involved to make us bigger and better this year!
