Founded in 1966, Leeds Labour Students has a long history of bringing together Labour-supporting students and fighting for Labour values. From campaigning for Labour candidates on and off campus, to hosting speakers (from Andy Burnham to Jeremy Corbyn to Yvette Cooper to Luciana Berger) to holding great socials and nights out, Leeds Labour Students is incredibly active, and committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming society for Labour supporters and activists at Leeds Uni.

Over the last few years, we have helped turn Headingley into a Labour stronghold and we've campaigned at by-elections including Heywood & Middleton and Middlesborough and, ahead of the general election, we spent months campaigning in West Yorkshire marginals. We have helped to see some of our former members elected to Leeds City Council and this year we are hoping to help reelect the Labour majority in Leeds at the local elections. We have been described as the "Labour machine" by the BBC. In the past, we have won the Labour Students award for the best campaigning Labour club, and were joint winners of the Leeds University Union award for best Political and campaigning society.

We run campaigning session for our local Labour councillors, MPs and candidates as well as holding regular socials and events as well as opportunities for friendly debate; all are welcome, so please come along and get involved!
