Dance Exposé is The University of Leeds' only dance troupe; an eclectic mix of about 50 guys and girls brought together by their passion for dance.  From contemporary to commercial, break dance to ballet, we’re a fun loving society who pride ourselves on the diversity of our dancers.  Our semi-annual shows allow us the chance to show off all of our talent, diversity and fun encompassed within Exposé.

We welcome students of all ages, dance backgrounds and levels of experience to come to our auditions. We’re looking for committed, passionate and versatile dancers to join us - we just want to see you DO YOUR THING.

Having previously been awarded “Best Society” at the LUU DANCE COMPETITION and  “Best Show” at the highly prestigious RILEY SMITH AWARDS in 2013, Exposé have grown by leaps and bounds.  2014 was explosive, seeing us win “Best Long Standing Collaboration” with LUU Backstage Society at the RILEY SMITH AWARDS.  Throughout 2015, our hard work paid off once again as we won “Best Duet” plus “Best Dance Concept” at the LUU DANCE COMPETITION.  Alongside these massive achievements, we had a clean sweep on tour in Salou, winning 5 trophies, including Overall Winners, in the brand new Dance Competition against over 7 other University Teams.  In 2016 we were awarded "Best Dance Society" at the Riley Smith Awards, a very proud moment for us all.

In 2016, Exposé competed in our first external event and was awarded 1st place in the lyrical group and 2nd place in the hip hop group at Liverpool John Moore's University dance competition. We continued to compete in 2017 and was awarded 3rd place at Sheffield University for our hip hop dance team. We hope that this upcoming competition season is equally as successful.

We’re excited to see what the future holds for Dance Exposé and hope to continue achieving greatness!

You don’t have to choose between dance styles with Dance Exposé.  Being an entirely student-run dance society gives all of our members huge opportunities to learn new styles and techniques, as well as choreograph for various performances throughout the year.  As Leeds University’s only dance society to put on our own annual show outside of the LUU Dance Show, we rehearse regularly in the Union.  We work together to produce, choreograph and promote our 4 night sell out show, held in February in the Riley Smith Hall.

We also host a smaller event in December called “Exposed”.  It’s a more intimate event, in front of around 200 people, giving the audience a taste of what is to come in the February production.  Exposed this year will be held at the beginning of December, so get ready to come boogie!

But that’s not all!  Dance Exposé have strong ties with other societies, meaning that we are able to perform at external events such as Leeds RAG Fashion Show, LSTV’s Children in Need Fundraiser, Black History Month and SMS Cabaret.  We also perform at events outside of the university, such as the Insurance Institute of London's Great Gatsby Ball as well as TV appearances including Take Me Out and the X Factor Auditions.

You’ll never get bored with Dance Exposé!

We’re an exceptionally close and friendly society who certainly know how to work hard and play hard.  Our socials throughout the year can get pretty wild, and we're renowned for taking over the dancefloor on nights out in Leeds and abroad! In 2015, we travelled down to Lloret De Mar and won a number of awards such as 'Best Male', as well as venturing into Barcelona on our way home. Since then we have been to Salou on TOURR and are hoping to go again in 2018! Above all, we love just kicking back with a takeaway and a DVD (especially our past show DVD's) or hosting weekly cake club meetings – whatever we're up to, you're guaranteed to have fun with us!
