WHO ARE WE?

Her Campus Leeds is an online women’s magazine that gives students of both genders, with any level of experience, the opportunity to have their work published on a public platform.

We have opportunities for Feature Writers, Bloggers, Photographers, Copy-editors, Marketing Assistants and Digital Assistants, on a rolling basis.

For writers, we provide detailed feedback on all articles, using our dedicated team of copy-editors. We also guarantee that all work will be published on the site. Content is published bi-weekly.

Please email Co-Presidents Laura Mavrias and Kelan Mahon at leeds@hercampus.com  if you would like more information. Or if you have purchased membership, please get in touch to let us know how you would like to get involved with the magazine.

WHEN DO WE MEET?

We meet weekly in Old Bar in the Union, at 4pm on Mondays.

The Her Campus Leeds story so far

Our Chapter at Leeds has been running since 2011 and gained official society status in 2012. Since winning BEST NEW SOCIETY 2012/13 at the annual Riley Awards, Her Campus Leeds has evolved into a thriving society within the university and our membership numbers continue to grow year on year. Earlier this year we even managed to create a Special Addition print version of the magazine for the first time, something we hope to achieive again this academic year. We feel what sets us apart as a media society is our inclusivity; all levels of experience are welcomed and all our members' work gets published on the site. We provide constructive feedback to help members improve their skills and flourish in whatever area takes their interest.

Joining Her Campus is a great way to meet people with a similar interest in the media. This academic year we have plans to hold a number of socials ranging from casual weekly informal meetings to large charity events, including collaborations with other societies across the university.

What to do next

Come and say hi to us at the Freshers Fair! We will have a stall Monday 19th September and will be located either in the Riley Smith Theatre or outside the Marquee. Keep up to date with our social media or check this website when we have finalised our location!

Still interested and wanting to get involved? Come to our Welcome Meeting to meet the committee, find out more about the roles available and have your opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Our first meeting will be held Tuesday 4th October.

Buy membership for just £8 for the year! (or £6 if you are a returning member)

If you are unsure and want to see what it would be like to be a HC member, come to our Give it a go session were there will be Pizza, Beauty, and a Quiz. You will be able to pick up  GIAG booklet at the Freshers Fair and chat to the committee at the Fair about more details. The GIAG session will take place 26th October, so save the date!
