Leeds University Hindu Society (NHSF Leeds) aims to encourage and celebrate our Hindu dharma whilst providing students a home away from home. Most importantly, our events allow students to make new friends. Our society warmly welcomes any student (not necessarily a hindu!) who wishes to learn more about Hinduism and get involved with our exciting events.
Our first main event of the year is Meet and Greet, an event that specially caters to freshers and any new members. Come along to meet the committee, find out more about what we do and make new friends! More information will be available in the GIAG booklets.
Throughout the year, we celebrate important festivals like Navratri and Diwali and hold regular activites, including aartis, educational talks, sports and sewa events, which allow our members to get involved and keep in touch.
We end with our flagship event: MEHFIL, an inter-university charity talent competition held every year to showcase the best talent from different NHSF chapters, with special guest performances from famous stars such as Signature and Arjun.
Being affiliated with NHSF UK, we take part in national initiatives such as the annual, national sports competition and Sewa week. All of our initiatives aim to raise funds for our chosen charities: Kamla Foundation and a National Charity (TBC)
