As you are aware Leeds is not by the sea, but we don’t let that stop us! Kiteboarding has joined wakeboarding this year for the first time so now is your chance to give it a go. It is not dissimilar to wakeboarding, but this time instead of a boat/cable you fly the kite to give you power and speed. Depending on what you like you can cruise along lagoons, surf waves or go for big air tricks.

No experience is necessary as we have instructors on standby. How long it will take for you to get up and riding will depend on you, but it can be as little as three days for complete beginners.

After you are happy riding alone, you can come along to the sessions we’ll be hosting whenever the wind suffices. We ride on both East and West coast at a range of beaches.

Like us on facebook to keep up to date with trips and organise lessons.  (www.facebook.com/LUUKitesurfing) For those that want to come along for a ride - keep checking the page for updates.

Costs

lesson - £30 per hour

2-1 or 3-1 goes to £95 for a day or £185 for two days.

Most will be looking at spending £100-£300 to get to an independent level.

A day consists of 6 hours kiting.  All costs include equipment hire.

Independent kiters who come along to the practise sessions only have to pay for travel. We currently do not offer gear rentals, though if enough of you need it we can make it possible, so let us know via the FB page.

Events

Throughout the year we will be taking part in various SKA (Student Kitesurfing Association) events and competitions. Along with this, we will be taking more informal trips to a variety of beaches along the East and West coast so long as there is wind
