Welcome to Leeds University Union Men's Lacrosse Club!
By joining our club we promise that you will be making the best decision of your year at Leeds. We guarantee you will make friends for life and have some incredible times along the way. With one of the best (if not, THE best) social scenes, regardless of ability all newcomers will be welcomed into the lacrosse team straight away!
Lacrosse is physical, fast-paced and skillful - it's easy to see why its the fastest growing sport in the UK.
We are a growing club with a great social scene, recently promoted to the BUCS League Northern 1A after a league winning season. Mens Lacrosse is a rapidly emerging sport in the UK and we compete against a variety of teams. The teams we face contain both experienced players and freshers to lacrosse playing side by side creating variety and accessability for all.
The Development Squad is specifically for new comers to the sport, playing in competitive tournaments and friendlies against other Universities in order to recieve game time and exposure to the sport. The Development sqaud will go on to be a BUCS league team in the 2016/2017 Season.
Do I need experience?
Not at all! Uni lacrosse is a great chance to try something new, and year after year we train up freshers who previously have never picked up a stick. Have you played sports before but fancy something new? Want to try out a team sport? Any sporting experience will aid you, but you will receive top quality training in lacrosse skill, strategy and fitness. A majority of teams rely on a core of players that have no lacrosse experience before university; part of the skill of uni lacrosse is training up freshers to join the team and produce a quality base for future years.
To sign up to the club you will need to attend the Freshers Fair (in Freshers Week) where you will meet the Committee who can answer any questions! Come find us at our stall, we will be located in the Edge.
