Welcome to Leeds University Union Motorsport and welcome all freshers!
Get down to our stall at freshers fair to hear more about us, and make sure to book in to the Give it a Go session in October. Our facebook link is to keep up to date.
LUU Motorsport competes in the BUKC (British University Karting Championship), where we compete against over 50 other UK Uni's, in karts capable of speeds of over 75mph and 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. There are 8 rounds at 4 tracks nationwide, including a qualifying round before Christmas. Last year we also ran several teams in the Rookie Championship which runs alongside the main championship and is a great introduction to the world of competetive racing. Visit the BUKC website for more information on the championship:
We also run our own 'Tour de Yorkshire' championship for members of all abilities which takes in the best tracks in the north of England! Following on from its success last year, the 2017/18 championship is promising to be even bigger and better.
For those new to the world of motorsport, we have several drivers with many years of experience who are able to coach new drivers and teach braking points, driving lines, overtaking and anything else you need to learn, so don't worry if you've never set foot in a kart before or even if you don't have a driving license!
We also run a number of social events throughout the year aside from racing. This ranges from attending motorsport events, car shows, get-togethers to watch F1, or even just a good night out!
All updates for LUU Motorsport are through the facebook page so follow the link below and join the group for updates! Any questions or queries, just send an email or post on the Facebook page.
