We are PsycSoc, the departmental society for Leeds University Psychology students. A brand new committee has been elected this year who are dedicated to ensure you love your time with us! The committee works together to organise a range of social events to help members to meet new people and spark budding friendships with those on your course. We supports a number of charities by organising events to raise money as well as work closely with member of staff in the Psychology department to put on careers events to inspire your future following your studies at Leeds.

We've had some very inspiring careers events over the course of our first semester; Get involved in Volunteering, Postgraduate study talks and Clinical Psychology Talks to name a few. These events were organised in collaboration with the Psychology department's Dr. Gina Koutsopoulou (Director of Careers).

Psycsoc is continually raising money for charities such as; Mind Matters and Minds for Health.Last year a Staff vs. Students charity pub quiz took place. We are looking forward to this event again this year and have lots of other ideas for fundraising events!

Last year Psycsoc went to Budapest! We are currently planning this years trip abroad, we cannot wait!!

And finally an update... We are also planning a very special END OF YEAR BALL!! So get your gladrags ready!

Make sure you keep updated on Facebook and Twitter so that you don't miss out on future events.

Our standard membership for the duration of your stay at Leeds is £25.

However, if you buy the Freshers’ deal, this not only ensures that you will not miss out on our Intro events, but also reduces the cost of membership.

Buying before the term begins is just £20 for the 3 years, £14 for 2 years or £8 for 1 year. The reduced pre-term offer will be on sale until midnight 25th September, so join before term begins for a great deal and to attend our welcome events!

‘Flying start’ is a brand new tool guide and website brought to you by both students and staff at the IPS aiming to provide new students with information and guidance to ease the transition to University. This includes information about settling in, becoming an independent learner and referencing, so you should make the most of this. It is a fresh initiative for new students and although it may not all be relevant at this moment in time, there is definitely some useful information to take from it.
