The Russian and Slavonic Society is open to all studying or merely interested in Russian and Slavonic languages and culture. We're a small and friendly society where everyone knows everyone, which means that essentially any event you go to is an event with friends, not strangers! We offer activities to suit everyone drawing on all aspects of Russian and Slavonic culture, from our weekly "U Samovara" tea and coffee session from 1-3 on Tuesdays in the GRASS Foyer in Michael Sadler, to trips to various Russian events happening in and around Leeds.

This year we are also very keen on drawing in students who have either never studied Russian before and would like to know more about the culture or language, as well as students who are from a Russian speaking country and would like to be among people who have a love for it themselves. We often collaborate with the Eastern European Society and the Ukranian Society and will do so again in the future.

Membership is open to anyone even if you aren't studying Russian.

Find us in the GRASS Foyer of the Michael Sadler building every week for tea and Russian snacks (time tbc)! Come along to the Packhorse Pub on Thursday 8th of October at 7.30 for our GIAG pub quiz. It's always a great event and we'd love to see you there! Our Facebook group:
