Leeds University Union Turkish Society is open to everyone interested in Turkey and its people, and it defines itself as a volunteer based, non-govermental, non-political initiative aiming at promoting cultural and social activities, and encouraging participation and interaction.

Mission: Representing and presenting the Turkish culture and Turkey in Leeds by organising cultural events, fairs, film nights, language courses, academic discussions, trips, brunches, dinners and other social activities. Turkish Society intends to bring people coming from different cultures together without having any prejudice and discrimination, as beautifully explained in one of the poems of the Turkish poet Yunus Emre, which reads “Come, let us all be friends for once, Let us make life easy on us, Let us be lovers and loved ones”.

Vision: Establishing strong links between Turkish, British and other communities existing in Leeds. Supporting unity, collaboration and peaceful relationship between all people, without considering who they are, where they are from, what they are.
