Welcome to the official website of the University of Leeds Volleyball Club.
We are the University of Leeds’ most international student club and we want you to be involved! Whether you have International squad experience, played for a LUUVC team last season, or you have never played a game in your life but want to give it a go, we would like to welcome you into the club this year.
The volleyball club as a whole has progressed a lot over the past few years, expanding as a club on all skill levels. Last year, the first teams made it through the British Universities and Colleges Sports league (BUCS) conference cups, the men's team making it to the quarter-finals and the women's team getting the gold medals!
Some of our members even compete at the highest level of the National Volleyball League (NVL): NIGEL SIBANDA, ED CAVE and MOHAMMAD BASHA all play for Leeds City Volleyball club in the top National league known as the Super 8's - the top 8 volleyball clubs in England.
"The University of Leeds Volleyball Club has grown vastly over recent years with the aim of raising its performance to represent the University at the highest level. In 2011 the Volleyball Club was awarded the Gryphon status of Performance Excellence and their standard of play has already improved greatly." The Edge 2012
"Volleyball is now one of the most popular team games in the world, with an estimated one billion players worldwide." Volleyball England, 2006

Just to start off the year our first social is Wednesday 27th September. We’ve decided to go for a more chill atmosphere and have a pizza and drinks night! This is a great chance to meet all the other players and just sit and chat.
