LUU Women's Basketball promote teamwork, friendship, passion, development and laughter for players who've been playing basketball for 15 years or 15 minutes. We offer plenty of opportunities for new players to learn the ropes, develop their skills and compete in our team. We also have exciting and vibrant socials, often with the men's team.

Weekly Personal Training sessions as part of club membership

Competitive and Development

We will be trying to tailor our training sessions so that those looking to play in the BUCS league may train in a more competitive situation, with drills and gameplay specifically built to strengthen the team dynamics and skill. Not only that, but this year we are also actively trying to provide the opportunity for girls to develop their basic fundamental skills in basketball, and are looking to form a potential Second Team to enter into the BUCS league in 2019/20 as part of our Development Team scheme.

Working with our Development Captain, girls can improve their passing, dribbling, and shooting skills as well as basic offense, defense, and general fitness. We will run drills and games and run through the rules on a beginner level but aiming to improve across the year. These activities will also be able to be tailored to each member's ability, with the option to increase the difficulty within each activity to challenge each individual's skill level. Development activities will be split from the First Team during our trainings, after a general warm up as a whole group.

Socials & Social Media

Wednesday nights go OFF for Women's Basketball! After a hard day balling we hit the Leeds night life dressed in outrageous outfits. Our highlights of the last year were the lavish Leeds Sports Ball, totally outrageous Tour and hilarious Hawaiian pizza social! We love our members to take part in the social side of our society as it is a great way for the team to bond and also to make a great group of supportive and encouraging friends.

We encourage all of our members to follow our Facebook page for updates on training fixtures, team lists, social events and all other information, and to add our Facebook account so you can message us whenever you have any questions or to let us know if you cannot make a training session.
