About the Club

LUUWAFC is about playing the sport we love, striving for success, and having a lot of fun along the way! We welcome players of all abilities and endeavor to give everyone time on the pitch. We are currently made up of three teams who all play on a Wednesday in their respective BUCS league.

Our 1st team will be starting in the Northern 1A League this season fighting for promotion to the Northern Premier League after winning the league in the previous two seasons. In 2015/16, our first team did the double and also won the BUCS Trophy, making them the most successful team in the whole of the University of Leeds finishing with 60 BUCS points!! Both our 2nd and 3rd team will be playing in the Northern 4B league.

Below are the training times for the 2016/17 season. This will be updated for the upcoming 2017/18 season once we receive confirmation of our training schedule.

Mondays: 5-6:30pm at Weetwood 3G pitch (All teams)

Tuesdays: 7-9pm at Weetwood 5-a-side pitches (3rd Team)

Tuesdays: 8:30-10pm at Weetwood 3G (1st and 2nd team)

Tuesdays: 4-5pm at The Edge Sports Hall 1b

For some this is arguably the most important part of playing a sport at uni. Socials take place every Wednesday (sports night); expect fancy dress, drinking games and most importantly plenty of banter. LUUWAFC is an extremely sociable and friendly club, mainly due to attendance at socials where all three teams can meet and dance the night away.

For one week during Easter the club heads abroad to Europe for TOUR! This a week full of drinking, nights out, games, sun, sea and a small amount of football. This is one of the events on the LUUWAFC calendar that is not to be missed!

Two weeks before the start of term we begin our pre-season training. This is a perfect opportunity to boost fitness levels after a summer slump and refine technique before the start of the season. FRESHERS are welcome and encouraged to attend pre-season, if you contact our club captain Lil she will provide you with all the information you need!

Pre-season training times will be released during summer, and will be posted on our Facebook page, website, and twitter.

Trial times for this year are yet to be finalised, and will be updated in due course. Trials are held after pre-season and are only used to allocate players to teams; they're very casual and we don't turn anyone away!

Give it a Go

We will hold Give it a Go sessions in both semesters of the upcoming year. The session will consist of fun games along with football specific drills before progressing onto friendly matches. This is a chance for you to give LUUWAFC a try and see whether it's something you're interested in getting involved in. If you miss this and still want to join, just send an email to our club captain (details at the bottom).
