Check out what you could avoid by taking your time!
When you’re ready to look, we’re here to help.
Where do I start?
Compare thousands of properties on Unipol's website.
LUU puts on a Housing Fair in January each year where you can meet and compare a variety of Unipol Code landlords in your Union, from big agencies and complexes to small landlords. Whether you’re looking for a one bed flat or a twelve bed house, the Housing Fair is the place to start your search. Plus you can talk to Student Advice and get info on rent, bills, security, energy saving, and much more…
Missed this year's fair? You can still check here to see who attended the Housing Fair in 2013 and 2014.
Read more about what’s on offer and when to look - including info for students studying abroad, students with dependents, and students going on placements.
How do I find a good landlord?
Find out which landlords students recommend: Check out the previous winners of the Leeds Landlord Awards (click on the "About" page and scroll down). 2014 winners announced!
The Rate Your Landlord review site for students can also help. It's a review site where Leeds students leave feedback about their renting experiences. Make sure you check to see what thousands of current students have to say about their landlords when you are house hunting.

How do I know what to look for on viewings?
We have checklists and tools to help when you’re viewing properties. Read more about finding a good place.
Want to know how to get a great deal?
Our House Hunting Volunteers and Money Information Assistants will be in the LUU foyer from 27 January to end of February 2015, giving you the info you need to negotiate a great deal with landlords. Come and ask questions, share your tips and get your contract checked.

Ready to sign?
Once you’ve found a place, we strongly recommend getting your contract checked by Student Advice. Remember, you can ask to take the contract away for 24 hours and Unipol Code landlords must agree not to re-market the property in the meantime. Find out about our contract checking service.
