Welcome Back and Happy New year from everyone in the community team!


House Hunting Fair—27th January 11-4pm Riley Smith Hall— Come down to the Riley Smith Hall to meet and compare a range of Unipol Code landlords from big agencies to small landlords! There will also be information from Student Advice on rent, bills, energy saving and much, much more! We will also have an info space in the foyer of the union from Monday 27th January to Friday 7th February 11-4pm and volunteers in the Unipol outlet. You will be able to get your contract checked and talk to our volunteers about money, bills, budgeting and any other housing related questions!  Remember that when you’re ready to look, we’re here to help! Don’t Forget To REGISTER to Vote!!!!! Local elections are being held on 22nd May 2014 - you can pick up a registration form from the helpdesk. This is your chance to vote for the local councillors you think will best represent you and your needs as both a student and as a resident of Leeds. Councillors can help with a range of issues from bins and recycling, to safety and lighting to how long shops and clubs are allowed to stay open and serve alcohol! Look out for MP and Councillor events during the week beginning 10th February 2014! Leave Leeds Tidy FREE SHOP!! Come to the Riley Smith Hall from 11am on    Friday 24th January for our second free shop of the year. This is a chance to pick up free bedding/crockery and other essentials for moving into new    accommodation.

LGBT History Month Launch Event  - Monday 3rd February 2014

Come along and celebrate the beginning of LGBT History Month, there will be free wine, food, art exhibitions and speakers!! From 5:30pm in the Parkinson Court

Community Tip of the month: We’re sure you got lots of lovely gifts for Christmas - but don’t forget to register everything on Registering your belongings will help the police identify your possessions should they get stolen and help you with insurance claims in the unfortunate event that you get burgled - and it’s free!
