I am delighted that you are interested in the role of Events Coordinator at Leeds University Union. LUU is an incredibly dynamic and stimulating environment to be part of, plus it’s a particularly exciting time for the Events Team as we are coming to the end of a large scale refurbishment of some of our spaces.

As you will see from the information below and www.luu.org.uk/union-events/ our Events Team work together to create a diverse and eclectic range of events including but not limited to live music, club nights, spoken word, poetry and theatre. In short, we make sure that our members love their time at Leeds. We work closely as a team, together with our colleagues in other areas and alongside local and national promoters to deliver our events, contribute positively to the student experience and create a union to be proud of.

You will be working predominantly out of the area we call Venues, which incorporates our club, live music and theatre spaces. Stylus is our largest room and is one of the busiest 1000-capacity live music venues in Leeds, welcoming some of the biggest bands on the touring circuit.  Our new in-the-round 200 capacity multi-functional arts space, along with our 350 capacity Riley Smith Theatre will host a series of engaging and dynamic theatre, spoken word and film screenings.

These three rooms also play host to club nights and festivals, including the legendary student night Fruity, Live at Leeds and Damnation festival.

The role is ideal for someone who has developed their event management skills over a number of years and is looking for the next step in their career. You will be an excellent communicator, team player and have great leadership skills.  LUU offers great development opportunities due to the breadth of our commercial outlets, as well as through training, job shadowing and wider organisational involvement in key projects and initiatives.
