The role of Hate Crime Support Student Ambassador is a great opportunity to help us make a difference to the lives of our students. This jointly funded project with the University of Leeds will enable the successful applicants to put in motion a series of activities and support that will be embedded into University policy and practice as well as creating a sustainable legacy. You will be supporting the delivery of a campus wide ‘challenge’ ‘report’ and ‘support’ culture that ensures all students have a safe environment in which to study and live.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- To create an increase in the awareness of hate crime and incidents and the current reporting systems in place.
- To support and encourage students to report incidents and access support.
- To network and build relationships with relevant groups and organisations.
- Work with partners and relevant people within LUU and the University on campaigns and the development of an online reporting system.
The successful candidates will get to work with a broad range of students and stakeholders, and will be based within our Help & Support Team. They will be working closely with student groups and societies and will have a good understanding of the impact of Hate incidents on student wellbeing. If you feel that you could contribute to our team and feel excited by the challenge, please do apply.
