I’m really please you are interested in applying for the role of Frontline Help & Support Coordinator at LUU. This is a really exciting time for us as there are lots of new developments for our team over the next year and this new role is a big part of that!

Over the last term we’ve been developing the Help & Support service and have made some significant changes in the services we offer and the way we deliver them. Our focus is to provide help and support to students when they need it. The team deliver first contact information and support on queries ranging from housing, academic and mental health difficulties. Whilst much of this is signposting, we’re looking to increase the proportion of queries the team can help with and your role will be to support the team in this.

We operate a roaming service throughout the whole of the recently refurbished foyer space and our aim is for it to become a welcoming, relaxed and relevant space for students. The Help & Support team support a programme of activity in the foyer which promotes wellbeing and it will be your responsibility to develop this programme.

Day to day, the main part of your role will be to support our student staff; you’ll be the person they look to for help when they are unsure how to help someone. You’ll mainly be based in the foyer, supporting the delivery of the Help & Support service, but you’ll also spend some time away from the frontline attending team meetings, carrying out performance management and staff training amongst other activities.
